So I went out with friends on friday night and ended up not joining my friends for the long run on saturday. So I had to go on sunday by myself. I did 11 miles on my own, which is this HUGE mental victory.
Two weeks till the half marathon. I've got to get registered. Eek.

Back to blogging
Well, it's obviously been a while.
I've been training. Just not blogging. We moved, it's been hectic, blah blah.
My half marathon is coming up in a few weeks, and my running buds and I will be ready. We did 11 miles this past weekend, and 10 the weekend before. Hopefully we'll get another long one in on Saturday and then we'll ease back until the half. It's great having folks to run with.
One of the gals, R, and I are meeting in the early AM to run this week. We did it yesterday and today. 3 miles, and about 3.5 miles. 4 is probably all we'll have time for, TOPS, before work during the week. But it's the consistency that counts!
I need to get my butt to the pool. It's been a couple weeks. I just flat out don't like swimming inside all that much. Meh.
Biking... I somehow wrangled myself into a position of leading a women's ride on Monday nights. So I showed up this Monday, and I was the only rider!! :D So hopefully next week will be better. I ended up doing a 15 mile ride here in town instead. So that's good. I also got certified to teach Spinning, and I need to find a regular gig for that so I am accountable.
And weights. Oh how I want to do them, know I should, but don't.

My new goals
So this year, I have set some new goals. I conquered my half marathon last year, and I plan to do a few of them this year. I would like to PR at least once. The first half is May 4th.
Also, I got a triathlon coach. He's someone who frequents the multisport board I hang out on, and he has coached several others on there as well. I want to do a few sprints, and tackle a olympic distance tri this summer. Coach Sheldon, or CS, has posted schedules for me on a webpage, and I get to follow them.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to swim for some crazy length of time, so we'll see how that goes. Eek.
Today, I did a bike run session. 60 min on the bike, followed by a 20 min run. It was like 7o degrees here today, so I put on my longer bike pants and my arm warmers and went outside!! It was awesome. I did 15.67 miles in 60 minutes, which is a fantastic pace for me. Then I did my 20 min run, which was tough, but my legs were better after about 12 minutes.
Allegedly, if I do workouts like this consistently, I'll kick ass this summer. :)

Windy Run!
Good grief, I hate running in the wind. Our run this morning was windy and miserable. I almost bagged it and went to the gym when the wind was rocking my car sitting at a stoplight. Eek.
But we did a little over 10K, we ran into the wind on the way out, slightly uphill too. Yuck. But we rocked it on the way back. We did 40 minutes out, and it only took us 33 minutes on the way back!! Still a great time for me on that distance, so I guess I'm getting stronger.
One of my running buddies from my group (she also did the 10 miler with me last week) broke her ankle this week, in kind of a weird way. She stepped wrong and fell and broke it. That sucks so much for her.
I had the BEST burger and fries tonight. Hopefully the run today helped offset some of it. :D

Frosty Frozen 5 (10 really)
My friends and I ventured down to Chatfield Reservoir this morning to do a 10 mile race. It was cold, and windy. So we bundled up and away we went.
Our longest runs lately have been about 7 miles, so I was a little nervous about the distance. We took off a bit faster than I was ok with, but I didn't want to run by myself so I stayed with them. Always lagging a little behind. :)
We did good, stayed solid, but by mile 7 or 8 we were feeling tired. It wasn't a great day of running for me, and I probably slowed my friends down, but we hung in there and finished it up. Finish time: 2:05. We were hoping for around 2 hours, so I'm fairly content with the time.
But hey, we covered the distance, and now I'm sitting at home, watching some football!

10 mile race tomorrow
Eek. I hope I'm ready. It's going to be freezing ass cold. I'm running it with two people from my running group, so hopefully we'll do ok. Just a long training run, that's all. :)
We're shooting for 2 hours. I'll update later!

Training update
We ran 70 minutes on Saturday. I ran 4 miles yesterday. Tonight I plan about 3-4 miles of intervals on the treadmill, with hopefully some weights afterwards.
I really need to focus on getting in 5-6 days of working out. I've been slacking with 3-4. Spin and weights. And if I ever want to do another tri (I DO!) I need to get my lazy ass back to the pool.
